13 People Become Certified Drone Pilots Through the Chamber of Commerce

The CIDE Network Closes This Official Chamber Course Funded by the FEDER, 21‑27

The CIDE Network of the Fuerteventura Chamber of Commerce celebrated today at the Business Nursery the closing of the Official Professional Drone Pilot Course, a pioneering training that enabled 13 island professionals to obtain official certifications from the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) in categories A1/A3, A2, STS‑01 and STS‑02, as well as the UAS Radio Operator title.

The institutional inauguration of the event was led by the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Juan Jesús Rodríguez Marichal, who emphasized the strategic role of technological innovation in strengthening the competitiveness of the island’s business fabric.

The initiative was organized by the CIDE Network of the Chamber of Commerce, with training delivered by Alisios Dron SL, and is part of the FEDER Canary Islands Operational Programme 2021‑2027, co‑financed at 85 % by the European Regional Development Fund.

The ceremony was hosted by Amanda Chacón, CIDE Network technician, and Antonio Bolaños, Training Manager at Alisios Dron SL, who presented a course overview and highlighted innovation opportunities linked to drone use.

The day concluded with the awarding of diplomas and official certificates, the traditional group photo, and a networking session among the attendees.

“With this course we take a decisive step toward diversifying Fuerteventura’s economy. Drones are a tool with enormous potential in sectors such as construction, agriculture, security, and tourism, and having qualified professionals on the island will allow us to seize those opportunities from a local perspective,” said Chamber President Juan Jesús Rodríguez Marichal.

The Fuerteventura Chamber of Commerce congratulates the 13 participants who successfully completed the training and encourages continued promotion of technological innovation as a driver of economic diversification on the island.

“The CIDE Network is an initiative of the Canary Government’s Department of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, promoted through the Canary Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI), and co‑financed by the European Regional Development Fund, with an 85 % co‑financing rate within the FEDER Canary Islands Operational Programme 2021‑2027.”
