€1.4 million grant to boost hiring and business initiatives

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has opened the application period for subsidies aimed at promoting employment and launching business initiatives.

“Two very necessary calls to boost the growth of our business fabric while also helping to reduce unemployment in Fuerteventura by encouraging hiring,” explained island president Lola García.

In total, more than €1.4 million is allocated across two aid lines, combining Cabildo’s own funds with financing from the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).

Economic Promotion and Employment Minister’s Statement

“It is important to keep focusing on employment policies and entrepreneurship support, with two aid lines that are highly demanded by our SMEs, freelancers, and entrepreneurs,” said Nuria Cabrera, Minister of Economic Promotion and Employment. “Therefore, we have not only increased the amount but also improved the criteria to reach more beneficiaries and adapt them to the reality of the island’s business fabric.”

The programmes prioritize models that:

  • Generate local jobs
  • Promote equity
  • Collaborate with social entities
