235 Students Join Fuerteventura's Teach-to-Entre

A total of 235 students and 22 teachers from Fuerteventura took part on Wednesday in the Cooperatives Fair of the “Teach to Entrepreneur” programme, held in Puerto del Rosario. Fifteen school cooperatives from different educational centres across the island set up stalls on Primero de Mayo Street to showcase the work they had developed during the school year, simulating cooperative business projects and selling products and services.

The initiative, promoted by the Canary Islands Government’s Department of Tourism and Employment through the Canary Employment Service, gave students the chance to present their projects in a real‑world commercial environment.

Opening ceremony

The inauguration was attended by:

  • José Ramón Rodríguez, General Director of Labor of the Canary Islands Government
  • Adargoma Hernández, Education and Youth Counselor of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura
  • Érica González, Local Development councilor of Puerto del Rosario
  • David Jubera, Director of the Cajasiete office in Puerto del Rosario

“The programme brings the idea of entrepreneurship to students in a fun and entertaining way, while also developing teamwork and business‑management skills,” said José Ramón Rodríguez.

“We thank the commitment of the island’s schools and value the collaboration between the Cabildo and the University Foundation of Las Palmas to promote training and employability,” added Adargoma Hernández.

“The project allows students to live a practical experience of cooperative entrepreneurship and to see up close how a business initiative works,” highlighted Érica González.
