37 Olive Trees Stolen from the Melián Family in Tuineje

Olive Theft at Aloe Vera Exclusive Farm

37 olive trees were stolen from the farm of the Melián family, owners of the company Aloe Vera Exclusive and recent winners of the Canary Islands’ best oil award with their “Canary Oil.” The theft took place at the Aloe Vera Exclusive estate in Tiscamanita, Tuineje.

Impact on a Prominent Agricultural Family

The incident is a tragedy for this well‑known family, a pillar of the primary sector on the island of Fuerteventura, who have achieved high‑quality products through hard work and perseverance. The robbery occurred in two stages:

  • First, 26 trees were taken.
  • A second wave saw another 11 trees removed.

The loss is doubly harmful because the stolen olive trees represent years of labor and reduce the future production capacity of this valuable product.

Call for Authorities

The Melián family is urging authorities to investigate these crimes, emphasizing that such thefts diminish the productive strength of this exemplary island enterprise.

Hard Work Beginning to Bear Fruit

The family’s effort with Aloe Vera Exclusive earned this year the award for the best oil in the Canary Islands for Fuerteventura. In addition, they unveiled new facilities that will enhance the prestige of the well‑known Aloe and oil brand in Tiscamanita.
