39-Year-Old Man Killed in Bus-Car Crash in Tuineje

A 39‑year‑old man lost his life on Saturday in a traffic accident that occurred in the municipality of Tuineje, following a frontal‑lateral collision between a bus and a car, according to the Canary Islands Government’s Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES 1‑1‑2).

The crash, recorded at around 6:00 a.m. by emergency services, immediately mobilised a basic life‑support ambulance and a medicalised ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), as well as firefighters from Tuineje and the Civil Guard.

SUC medical staff confirmed the death of the car driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The bus driver, a 33‑year‑old man, sustained moderate injuries and was transported in a medicalised ambulance to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura.

Firefighters secured the involved vehicles and assisted the other emergency services in rescue and safety operations.

The Civil Guard regulated traffic in the area and took charge of the necessary investigations to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
