60 People Rescued East of Fuerteventura

The immigrants were transferred to the port of Gran Tarajal.

Maritime Rescue rescued during the morning of Friday an inflatable boat carrying 60 people when it was about 55.5 km (30 nautical miles) from Fuerteventura, according to the official agency.

Specifically, the inflatable was located by the Sasemar 103 aircraft roughly 30 miles southeast of Fuerteventura, prompting the Rescue Coordination Center (CCS) in Las Palmas to dispatch the rescue vessel Izar.

The rescue vessel Izar then carried out the operation and transferred the migrants to the port of Gran Tarajal.
