60 People Rescued Southeast of Entallada Lighthouse

It was an inflatable boat carrying migrants of Sub‑Saharan and Maghreb origin.

Maritime Rescue saved on Tuesday an inflatable boat with 60 migrants on board, located 35 miles offshore between Fuerteventura and the mainland.

The rescue vessel Izar set out after the Civil Guard warned that a boat had departed from Tarfaya on the African coast.

Following the alert, the inflatable was sighted about 35 miles from the coast of Fuerteventura with 60 people aboard—53 men and 7 women, some from Sub‑Saharan Africa and others of Maghreb origin.

The Izar rescued the migrants and took them to the port of Gran Tarajal, in southern Fuerteventura.
