700 seniors join Pozo Negro at Feaga's traditional folk gathering

Senior centers across the island, as well as the residential home and day‑care centres, attended the event to enjoy dancing and socialising at the Pozo Negro fairgrounds.

700 seniors from every municipality visited the Agricultural, Livestock and Fisheries Fair (FEAGA) in Fuerteventura on Thursday afternoon. The gathering included participants from all senior centres on the island, the residential home and Day Centre of Puerto del Rosario, and the Josefina Plá Day Centre in La Oliva.

The stage set up in the Pozo Negro fairgrounds welcomed the island’s president, Lola García, the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Enrique Pérez, and the Minister of Social Action, Víctor Alonso, together with other island officials and municipal representatives.

“The traditional meeting with our seniors at Feaga is one of the most anticipated moments of the fair. It is important that they can gather, enjoy our customs and music, and take part in the usual folkloric encounter,” said President Lola García.

Both Ministers Pérez and Alonso thanked all senior centres, the residential home and day‑care facilities for their participation, emphasizing the importance of older people’s involvement in an event such as Feaga.
