A new storm hits Fuerteventura this Tuesday

Wind, Rain and Rough Seas Bring the Harshest Winter Conditions Back to the Island

A powerful low‑pressure system will hit Fuerteventura on Tuesday, driven by strong northerly winds and a cold front that will also affect southern Europe.

The system, which begins to influence the island on Monday night, is expected to remain until Wednesday morning, giving roughly 36 hours of north‑west winds exceeding 65 km/h.

All forecast models predict widespread rain across the entire island, with significant accumulations in some areas and the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.

The storm is also bringing a rough sea state, with waves that may exceed 5 metres in height, especially along the north and west coasts of Fuerteventura. Residents are advised to exercise great caution.
