Accessibility: A Challenge

The IV Accessibility Days of Fuerteventura have concluded, organized by the Department of Accessibility. Around 200 participants attended the event on November 14‑15 at the Palace of Training and Congresses of Fuerteventura.

The closing activity was an adapted hiking route, during which certifications for handling Joëlette chairs were awarded by CD Fuertetrail and the Association Senderos Sin Barreras, with guidance from Vulcano Trekking.

The trail led participants from Caleta de Fuste to the Barranco de la Torre in the municipality of Antigua. Walking along the coastline, the group stopped at the Hornos de Cal, the Guirra Paleontological Site, the Salinas del Carmen, and the Cetaceans Trail sculpture, among other points of interest.

The event also involved nursing students from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and trainees from the Emergency Health program at CIFP Majada Marcial.

“I thank everyone who made this fourth edition possible. The jornadas provide a space for exchanging experiences, knowledge, and training in universal accessibility,” said Accessibility Councilor Carmen Alonso.
