Adisfuer to Support Cabildo Sports Facilities
The contract ensures the proper functioning of the facilities while promoting the social and labor integration of workers.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura is promoting the integration of people from vulnerable sectors through a contract signed with the Association of Disabled People of Fuerteventura (Adisfuer). The agreement covers support services for the operation of the island’s sports facilities, an essential service that guarantees the smooth running of activities in all venues.
The signing ceremony took place on 25 March, attended by Cabildo President Lola García, Sports and Procurement Councilor Luis González, Association President María de Los Santos Rodríguez, and her manager Mónica Montesdeoca. The tender process was carried out confidentially for entities of social interest.
The Sports Department is promoting the contract, in coordination with the Procurement Service, as part of the island’s eSPORTura 25‑35 sports strategy. It is a transversal element that improves sports‑infrastructure management and positions sport as a unifying tool for social integration. The agreement is renewed for a two‑year period, with the possibility of extension, and is valued at roughly €400,000.
“It is a contract with a clear social character that guarantees the operation of our sports facilities and the year‑round development of the activities they host,” said President Lola García.
“The contract is designed to create integration opportunities for people with disabilities, providing employment for twelve members of the association.”
García praised Adisfuer and its staff for their excellent work.
Councilor Luis González highlighted that the contract improves facility management, “materialising one of the dimensions pursued by the island’s sports strategy, namely the social aspect.”
“Thanks to these twelve workers, we can keep the sports centres open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while also promoting fairer public procurement, which is our goal in both the Sports and Procurement areas,” González added.
Representing Adisfuer, Mónica Montesdeoca expressed satisfaction with the continuation of the service:
“Being able to keep providing this service gives stable employment to twelve people, which translates into twelve families benefiting from this inclusion.”
The duties include opening and closing the facilities, monitoring the use of the various spaces, reporting any incidents, and other related tasks.
