AM‑CC Gathers Over a Thousand for Its Traditional Christmas Lunch

The gathering marks the start of the commemorative agenda for the 50‑year history that the Majorera Assembly will celebrate in 2027.

The Majorera Assembly – Canarian Coalition of Fuerteventura held its traditional Christmas lunch at the El Brasero restaurant in Tarajalejo. The event attracted a broad audience, bringing together roughly 1,000 attendees including party militants, supporters, the party’s organic officials and the heads of list in the various municipalities. National party president Fernando Clavijo was also present, “not wanting to miss this annual meeting with his colleagues from Fuerteventura,” as well as the regional organization secretary of the Canarian Coalition, David Toledo.

This year, the gathering also launches the agenda of activities that will commemorate the half‑century of the Majorera Assembly, which will turn 50 in 2027. The nationalist formation invites everyone to take part in the forthcoming events, aiming to “highlight the creation of the first island‑focused and nationalist party of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands, which remains alive today.”

“We celebrate this meeting with great enthusiasm, not only because it connects us and allows us to share a pleasant moment with our militants, but also because it kicks off the commemoration of the 50 years of the Majorera Assembly, reviving its participatory and combative spirit,” said Mario Cabrera González, island secretary of the Majorera Assembly – Canarian Coalition Fuerteventura.

“A party that was born with the purpose of taking Fuerteventura out of oblivion and the centralism of Madrid, with ideals we still defend today and that have charted the path we continue to follow,” Cabrera added.

“For us, today’s event is a way to give back to our militants everything they provide us each day: their proposals, their listening, and above all, their loyalty to this party, which keeps us the leading political force in Fuerteventura,” he continued. “This half‑century of history also belongs to them, because without their support we could not have reached this point. Our militants are the true heartbeat of the Majorera Assembly, a party born from the people and therefore belonging to them,” concluded the island secretary.

The current organization secretary, Natalia Évora, expressed her emotion at “seeing a large part of our historic militants gathered here and, above all, confirming that this party has a future thanks to the new generations.” She also noted that “we have tried to give this event a family atmosphere and, to facilitate work‑life balance, we have added inflatable castles and face‑painting for the little ones this year.”

Lola García, president of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, thanked the militants for attending the meeting with their families. “This is what gives us the strength to work for all the municipalities. We will continue to do so for the present and the future of our island. Fuerteventura is what it is today thanks to the founders of the Majorera Assembly,” she concluded.

During the gathering, national party secretary Fernando Clavijo also addressed the militants, reminding them of the importance of reinforcing the values of the Majorera Assembly – Canarian Coalition, to “calm the extremist‑right rhetoric that is spreading in society, as well as to continue the path that was solidified in Fuerteventura thanks to the creation of the Majorera Assembly.”
