Anjoca to Build 58 Villas in Caleta de Fuste
Antigua gives the green light to a €10 million investment by Anjoca Canarias in Caleta de Fuste.
On Thursday, the governing board of the Antigua City Council approved the project submitted by Anjoca Canarias. The plan, part of the II Modernisation, Improvement and Competitiveness Enhancement Plan for Tourism in Caleta de Fuste, authorises an approximate €10 million investment to construct 58 tourist villas on the site that currently houses the company’s former offices.
“As with the recently inaugurated new shopping centre on Plot Q, this project requires the development and landscaping of a large green area of 26,000 m²,” said Mayor Matías Peña García. “The space will include a children’s playground, a functional‑training zone, shaded pergolas, resting benches, and, additionally, a road link that will connect this part of Caleta de Fuste with the Montecastillo residential area.”
Mayor Peña added that the achievement reflects the work of the municipal technical team, from the Technical Office to the City Hall Secretariat, which handles both minor initiatives and large‑scale projects such as this one.
“It is no coincidence,” he concluded, “that Antigua is the only municipality in Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands with a II Tourism Modernisation Plan approved by the Canary Islands Government. This plan drives the renewal and modernisation of tourism infrastructure in Caleta de Fuste, raises the quality of accommodation facilities, and reorganises roughly 50,000 m² of public space for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.”
