Anticyclonic weather and isolated dust haze over the continent all week
Light northeast winds and stable, pleasant temperatures in early May
The weather during the first week of May brings sunshine back to the islands, with temperatures stabilising around 22 °C and the possibility of reaching 25 °C in some areas during the warmest part of the day. Mornings will carry higher humidity and cloud cover, which will gradually give way to large clearings as the day progresses.
In this context, the Azores anticyclone settles into position, exerting its influence and keeping the islands protected from the dust (calima) that is moving south‑southeast over Mauritania, Mali and Niger.
Regarding sea conditions, wave heights will decrease throughout the week, with waves not exceeding one metre along the north and west coasts of the islands, while leeward waters remain completely calm.
