Arrests after 203 grams of cocaine seized at Fuerteventura Airport

The case involves a 45‑year‑old man whose supervisor was a 22‑year‑old who was waiting for him in a car.

A 45‑year‑old man was detained last weekend at Fuerteventura Airport while acting as a “mule,” delivering cocaine to a 22‑year‑old who was waiting for him in a vehicle and who is alleged to have been in charge of the operation.

According to a statement from the Superior Police Headquarters of the Canary Islands, the 22‑year‑old is responsible for coordinating the logistics that allow “mules” to transport the narcotic. He arranges the use of rented vehicles at the airport and purchases the airline tickets needed for the shipment.

The arrest took place after police learned of the 45‑year‑old’s intent to complete the hand‑over. When the supposed “mule” approached the car where the younger accomplice was waiting to receive the drugs, both men were apprehended.

Once in police custody, the 45‑year‑old was found to be carrying 203 grams of cocaine, concealed in his underwear.
