Binter teams up with Air China to connect the Canary Islands via Madrid to Beijing, Havana and São Paulo
Air China’s routes to Beijing, São Paulo and Havana will be linked with Binter’s services between Madrid and the airports of Gran Canaria and Tenerife North.
Binter and Air China have signed a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) that will enhance connectivity between the Canary Islands and several major international destinations served by the Chinese carrier. The agreement, concluded at the end of 2025, opens new travel possibilities for passengers flying to and from the archipelago and supports the development of tourism and the local economy.
Agreement Overview
- The two airlines will combine Air China’s long‑haul flights (Beijing, São Paulo, Havana) with Binter’s regional legs (Madrid ↔ Gran Canaria and Tenerife North).
- In the first phase, Air China will market the combined itineraries, integrating them into its global network and allowing a single reservation for the entire journey.
- Passengers will enjoy one‑stop check‑in all the way to the final destination, no need to collect luggage in Madrid, and can transfer between Barajas terminals T1 and T2 using the boarding pass of the onward flight.
“Travelers will benefit from a seamless check‑in process up to the final destination, without having to retrieve their baggage in Madrid,” Binter explained in a press release.
