Blas Acosta advocates for Cabildo stability

Blas Acosta highlights the “good management” of Matías Peña and expresses confidence that the current stability of the institution will not be jeopardized by decisions taken by a single part of the governing pact.

The general secretary of the Socialist Party (PSOE) of Fuerteventura, Blas Acosta, calls for “stability and continuity” of the present government pact in the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, trusting that actions by one faction will not endanger it.

Accordingly, the PSOE evaluates, under the banner of “will of support,” the continuity and stability of the governing pact in light of its partner’s decision to dismiss the former Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Matías Peña.

Acosta praises the good management carried out by Peña in the island’s primary sector and believes that the changes driven by one part of the pact will not alter the work trajectory established by the former minister.

“Aside from other considerations and political leaderships, the Cabildo must value and keep active the actions that have proven positive for food production in Fuerteventura and the generation of local economies,” Acosta adds, “small‑scale economies that nevertheless are capable of supporting many families and preserving the customs and uses intrinsic to our identity.”

In summary, the PSOE of Fuerteventura seeks to strengthen the stability of the governing group to ensure continuity of the pact and policies that have demonstrated benefits for citizens, while hoping that the unilateral decision does not threaten the Cabildo’s stability or undermine the good work already accomplished.
