Bordeaux to Fuerteventura flight diverted due to technical problems
The aircraft had to land in Asturias while emergency services at the airport were on standby.
Spanish air traffic controllers reported that a plane departing from Bordeaux and bound for Fuerteventura was diverted to Asturias Airport.
The aircraft, an Airbus A320 operated by Volotea, made an emergency landing in northern Spain to address a technical fault.
Asturian air traffic controllers shortened the flight path as much as possible and gave the plane priority to land safely on runway 29, with no further incidents reported.
