Cabildo Advances Second Island Youth Plan 2026‑2030

Institutions, associations and young people participate in the second island meeting to define priorities for future youth policies

The Island Council, through the Ministry of Youth, held the second working meeting to draft the Second Island Youth Plan 2026‑2030, a strategic project aimed at strengthening the active participation of young people in the design of public policies and ensuring that their needs and expectations are reflected in regional planning.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Council, municipalities, youth officers, associations and young people, who contributed their perspectives and proposals to define the priority axes of the upcoming island plan.

During the session, participants delved into an evaluation of the First Island Youth Plan 2020‑2025, analysing the achievements, the challenges identified, and the opportunities for improvement that will serve as the foundation for building the new strategic framework.

Youth Minister Adargoma Hernández thanked all attendees for their active participation and emphasized that “it is essential to continue creating joint working spaces that allow us to build more inclusive, innovative, and adapted youth policies to the current reality of Fuerteventura.”

The Council will continue developing new phases of participation and technical work to complete the Second Island Youth Plan 2026‑2030, thereby consolidating a model that focuses on the well‑being, involvement, and protagonism of young people in the island’s future.
