Cabildo and Radio Ecca Offer Language Courses to Boost Professional Skills

Both institutions launch a new edition of the courses “We Are” & “Wir Sind Fuerteventura.”

The English and German courses for tourism services return, offered by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and ecca.edu. Today, the Counselor for Economic Promotion and Employment, Nuria Cabrera, and the island delegate of ecca.edu, Carmen Nieves Hernández, signed the agreement that allows the training project to continue with a new edition.

“We Are Fuerteventura” and “Wir Sind Fuerteventura” aim to improve the linguistic competencies of the population and increase their employment opportunities, especially in the service sector—transport, commerce, security, etc. This year, the program also expands with an English course focused on the health‑care context.

These courses enjoy great acceptance each year, thanks to training at different levels, “which allow improving employability through language‑skill training,” noted Cabrera.

The island delegate of ecca.edu thanked the Cabildo:

“For this close collaboration, which makes it possible to offer these language courses at four locations on the island: Corralejo, Gran Tarajal, Puerto del Rosario and Morro Jable.”

The initiative is funded with €31,000, sourced from the Cabildo’s own budget and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), covering the entire project development.

The courses will be delivered using a methodology that integrates teaching materials, audiovisual resources, and tutorial support, aiming to reach 260 enrollments.
