Cabildo Boosts Vehicle Charging Network with Four New Stations

New 22 kW charging points are now operational in Antigua, Gran Tarajal and Costa Calma, and a 50 kW fast charger in Tuineje.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Ministry of Industry, continues to make firm strides in its decarbonisation strategy and the promotion of electric mobility. In this vein, the island corporation has put four new charging stations into service, adding to the island‑wide network of electric‑vehicle services that spans the entire territory.

As part of this plan, three new medium‑slow charging terminals (22 kW) have been installed in:

  • Antigua (Calle Alcalde Montesdeoca Cabrera)
  • Gran Tarajal (Calle Atis Tirma)
  • Costa Calma (Avenida Hapag‑Lloyd)

These points are designed to encourage “shared” charging, allowing users to power their vehicles while handling administrative tasks or enjoying commercial and leisure areas.

In addition, a new fast‑charging point of 50 kW has been added in the town of Tuineje, specifically on Calle Eustaquio Gopar (opposite the Town Hall). This represents a qualitative upgrade for the network, significantly reducing waiting times and facilitating long‑distance trips.

“It is important to advance the island’s electric‑vehicle charging network, within this institution’s commitment to the energy transition,” said Cabildo president Lola García. “The new installations modernise and expand a network that contributes to cleaner, more efficient mobility.”

According to the area’s minister Lolina Negrín, the project improves the infrastructure available both for residents and for visitors, strengthening Fuerteventura’s image as a responsible island adapted to new sustainability demands, while guaranteeing an efficient technical service and a modern, accessible network.
