Cabildo crews repair dirt roads after the Antigua Rally
Blas Acosta, Matías Peña and Samuel Torres visited the site to watch the machines at work, restoring the 50 kilometres of dirt tracks that hosted the rally.
The Antigua Town Hall thanked the Infrastructure Department of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura for its “rapid response” concerning the XXX Antigua Rally, which covered a 50‑kilometre route. According to the municipality, the Cabildo’s machinery intervened “before, during and after” the event, as detailed in a press release accompanied by on‑track photos of Vice President Blas Acosta, Mayor Matías Peña, and Sports Councilor Samuel Torres.
“The tracks were fixed starting on Monday, and this weekend we visited them. We found that they are perfectly settled, even in better condition than before the Antigua Rally.”
“I thank the Vice President and Infrastructure Councilor of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Blas Acosta, for his intervention before and after the XXX Antigua Rally, using heavy machinery to compact the surface, remove stones and set up irrigation on the sections to ensure safety for the race and avoid inconvenience to nearby homes.” – Matías Peña
Samuel Torres added that this work represents “a commitment” that responds to the request of residents living close to the race route.
