Cabildo Grants Nearly €640,000 to Kick‑Start Business Initiatives

The final resolution can already be consulted on the cabildofuer.es website, with a deadline set for 14 November.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has approved €637,364.65 in subsidies to support the creation of new business initiatives—almost €140,000 more than in the previous call—and has exhausted the entire budget allocated for the program.

“These subsidies are aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial fabric of Fuerteventura and improving employability,” said President Lola García.
“We are directing the aid to beneficiaries who are promoting business projects on the island,” added Economic Promotion Councilor Nuria Cabrera.

For this round, the eligibility criteria were revised to give greater weight to a project’s relevance within the current social and economic context. Proposals were especially valued if they:

  • Identify new market niches
  • Embrace innovation
  • Enhance competitiveness
  • Generate higher‑value‑added employment

Additionally, applications were assessed for compliance with sustainability standards and for their positive impact on social welfare.

The complete list of beneficiaries is available at the Cabildo’s portal: https://www.cabildofuer.es/cabildo/atencion-al-ciudadano/ayudas-becas-y-subvenciones/promocion-economica/subvenciones-para-la-puesta-en-marcha-de-iniciativas-empresariales/iniciativas-empresariales-2025/

The deadline to accept the grant and submit final justification 14 November. This applies to those applicants who were not already included in the provisional list published in October.

The funding line combines own resources of the Island Corporation with financing from the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).
