Cabildo Helps Companies Hire New Employees

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has approved more than €657,000 in subsidies to promote hiring. Both the Cabildo’s president, Lola García, and the Economic Promotion councilor, Nuria Cabrera, highlighted the grants as a means to boost the island’s business fabric and improve employability.

The subsidies allow beneficiaries to cover the salary costs of newly hired staff as well as the social security contributions that employers must pay when they bring on new personnel.

The call for this aid line has been improved by modifying its criteria, enabling it to reach a larger number of applicants and to adapt to the reality of Fuerteventura’s business sector. The changes align the program with current labor‑market needs and the profiles of those applying.

  • Deadline to accept the grant and submit the final justification: 28 November (for beneficiaries not already on the provisional list).
  • The final resolution can be consulted on the Cabildo’s website.
  • Funding comes from the Cabildo’s own resources and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).
