Cabildo launches digital entrepreneurship course in Morro Jable

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura is launching training on digital identity, website creation, and accessible tools, aimed at entrepreneurs, SMEs, and the public. The program runs from January 16‑18 in Morro Jable, with limited free seats.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of New Technologies, is rolling out the training action “Digital Entrepreneurship and Online Presence.” This practical course is targeted at citizens, professionals, and small businesses across the island. It is part of the “Connect and Grow Digital” talks and courses program and will take place in Morro Jable on January 16, 17, and 18.

The offering combines a lecture on digital business models and digital identity with a hands‑on workshop focused on building and improving online presence. Topics include:

  • Creating simple websites
  • Basic search‑engine positioning
  • Using accessible tools such as Canva and Wix

The methodology is practical, featuring step‑by‑step guided exercises and real‑world examples applied to local projects and businesses.

Schedule

  • Friday, 16 January: 16:00 – 19:00
  • Saturday, 17 January & Sunday, 18 January: 09:00 – 14:00

These hours are designed to accommodate working entrepreneurs and residents of the municipality and the rest of the island.

“It’s not just about having an online presence; it’s about learning to use digital tools to create jobs, diversify the economy, and give more visibility to local businesses and entrepreneurial projects on the island,” said Carmen Alonso, councilor for the area.

“Morro Jable is a strategic hub for bringing technological training to the south of the island and supporting SMEs, freelancers, and people seeking new professional opportunities in their digitalisation process,” Alonso added.

Participation is free but seats are limited. Interested individuals must register in advance via the Cabildo’s website (www.cabildofuer.es) under the New Technologies section.
