The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through its Social Action department, has launched a preliminary public consultation to develop new regulatory bases for grants aimed at non‑profit entities of the Third Sector of Social Action that carry out projects in the field of social welfare. The purpose is to gather input from the public before drafting the final regulation.
“This consultation seeks to involve social entities, professionals in the field and the general public to improve the final wording of the bases, thereby achieving a regulation that is more effective, transparent and adapted to the island’s social reality,” said island president Lola García.
The Social Action councilor, Víctor Alonso, added that the update will replace the current ordinance approved in 2020, encouraging social initiative and promoting actions that enhance the well‑being and quality of life of Fuerteventura’s residents. He noted that the new regulation will align with autonomous legislative changes and the principles established by the General Law on Grants.
The consultation period begins today, 9 October, and submissions can be made through the Cabildo’s electronic portal (link) or via any of the channels stipulated in article 16 of Law 39/2015.
Proposals must be addressed to the councilor of the Island Area of Social Action, referencing file 2025/22497, and can be submitted until 21 November 2025.
