Caleta de Fuste Opens Fund Grube Mall in Phase II Modernization
The project, linked to an urban planning agreement driven by the Antigua City Council, involved a private investment of €1.4 million and the transfer of a public park to the municipality.
The II Tourism Modernization Plan for Caleta de Fuste has enabled the transformation of Plot Q into the new Fund Grube shopping center, inaugurated in the tourist hub after an urban planning agreement between the Antigua City Council and the developer Impulsora de Comercio y Desarrollo, S.L.
According to a statement from the Antigua City Council, the agreement made possible a private investment of €1.4 million to open the shopping center and the donation of a fully equipped public park for community use.
“The launch of Building Q is a direct benefit of the approval, two years ago, of the II Tourism Modernization Plan for Caleta de Fuste, which unlocked the development of this parcel,” said Mayor Matías Peña García during the inauguration ceremony.
Key figures of the new Fund Grube center:
- Retail space: over 900 m²
- Investment: €1.4 million (private)
- Jobs created: more than 20 direct positions
- Public park: 2,300 m² of landscaped area, equipped with urban furniture, trees, and a viewing terrace, provided to the municipality at no cost
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Antigua City Council, the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, and other local authorities. The center hosts international perfume and fashion brands and includes a dedicated zone for local agricultural products, as highlighted by the organizers.
The urban planning agreement also allowed the Antigua City Council to receive, free of charge, the 2,300 m² public amenity zone, which now sits adjacent to the new shopping center in the heart of Caleta de Fuste.
