Canary Islands Consumption Voucher Can Also Be Used at Traditional Markets
The vouchers will go on sale on 28 April. The measure was announced by Councillor Manuel Domínguez during his visit to the commercial zone of Puerto del Rosario.
The Vice‑President of the Canary Islands Government and Councillor for Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self‑Employed, Manuel Domínguez, announced on Friday that stalls in traditional markets will be included in the archipelago‑wide Bono Consumo programme. The announcement was made during his visit to the open‑air commercial areas of Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura.
“Traditional markets are strategic hubs for encouraging local consumption,” Domínguez said, highlighting their role in the island’s economic revitalisation.
The campaign, which began on 15 April, aims to stimulate spending in local shops and services. In just 48 days, more than 300 businesses have joined the scheme, and the vouchers will be available for purchase on 28 April.
During his tour, the councillor met with representatives of the commercial sector, confirming the positive reception of the vouchers among merchants.
