Canary Islands Government Offers Resources to Support Córdoba Emergency Management
The Executive joins the victims’ grief and has conveyed its condolences to the Andalusian people.
The Government of the Canary Islands, through the Department of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Water, has officially informed the National Emergency Center (CENEM) of its full willingness to collaborate with the technical and human resources of the autonomous community that may be required to support the management of the emergency resulting from the railway accident that occurred yesterday, Sunday, 18 January 2026, in the Cordoban town of Adamuz.
The community expresses its readiness to cooperate both in the current of the emergency and in actions that may be necessary in later stages, especially in areas such as the location and extrication of persons, as well as the care of victims and their families.
The regional Executive emphasizes the importance of cooperation and solidarity among autonomous communities in especially difficult moments, where the sum of capacities and resources is key to providing an effective and humane response to emergency situations.
The Government of the Canary Islands has experience in mobilising specialised resources in highly complex contexts, as previously demonstrated with the assistance provided after the DANA that affected the Valencian Community, as well as in other state‑level emergency situations.
The Department of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Water reiterates the Canary Islands Government’s commitment to the principles of institutional collaboration and mutual support, and expresses its solidarity and closeness to the affected people, their families, and the entire Andalusian citizenry during these moments of sorrow.
