Canary Islands Police Arrest Two in Jandía for Fraud and Drug Trafficking

The operations took place in Morrojable and Costa Calma, involving illicit substances and cash.

Agents from the Operational Response Group of the Prevention and Intervention Unit (UPRI) of the General Corps of the Canary Police, based at the Gran Canaria Island Police Station, arrested two individuals during separate operations in the south of Fuerteventura.

The first intervention occurred in Morrojable (Pájara), where officers located a suspect subject to two judicial notices: a search, arrest and appearance order issued by the First Instance and Instruction Court No. 6 of Puerto del Rosario, and a search and appearance order from the Criminal Court No. 3 of Gijón related to an alleged fraud. After confirming the validity of the warrants, the individual was taken into custody.

A few hours later, in Costa Calma, officers observed a driver conducting a suspicious transaction from his vehicle. Upon approaching, they confirmed that he was handing over an illicit substance (crack) to another person. A subsequent search seized 300 grams of crack and €595.63 in fragmented banknotes, leading to his arrest on suspicion of a public health offense in the form of drug trafficking.

The case is now being processed, and the suspects remain in custody pending judicial appearance.
