Carla Brito enjoys her American adventure with family

The talented Majorcan player is in her final year of the U.S. college league at USF

Carla Brito, a basketball player from La Palma, was playing her last home game with her U.S. college team and wanted her family close—something she managed to make happen last week.

“Despite returning home in the summer to see her family and play with the Spanish national team, Brito had never played a college game in front of her family,” explained the Tampa press. “That changed when the Bulls celebrated Senior Night this week.”

“I thought, ‘It’s my senior night, I need them here.’ At least for a week,” Brito recalled telling her family.

During the summer, Brito convinced her relatives—including her twin brother, mother, and father—to make the transatlantic journey from their home in the Canary Islands to Tampa for Carla’s end‑of‑year celebration.

“I pressured them a bit,” Brito joked. “I told them, ‘Guys, this is the last year. You have to come.’”

And that’s exactly what they did. One of the Bulls’ key figures over the past four seasons was escorted onto the court for Senior Night with her entire family, cousins included, by her side.

“It was really exciting,” Brito said. “They’re thrilled to be here. It’s their first time in the United States.”

The Britos had been planning the trip for four years, and Carla was willing to wait and play for the moment, according to the digital outlet Fox 13.
