Chamber of Commerce to Open Offices in Morro Jable

The new office will bring advisory, training, and economic‑development support services to businesses, freelancers and entrepreneurs in the south of the island.

The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Fuerteventura and the Ayuntamiento of Pájara signed today in Morro Jable a collaboration agreement to establish a local chamber branch, aiming to bring business‑support services to the island’s southern region.

The agreement was signed by Alejandro Jorge Moreno, mayor of Pájara, and Juan Jesús Rodríguez Marichal, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Fuerteventura, in a ceremony that underscores both institutions’ commitment to work together for the municipality’s business community. Also present was Juan José Viera, councilor for Commerce of Pájara.

The new chamber branch is intended to become a reference point for self‑employed professionals, SMEs and entrepreneurs in the area, facilitating access to:

  • Advisory services
  • Training programs
  • Digitalisation support
  • Internationalisation assistance
  • Guidance on applying for aid and subsidies

“One of the main objectives of the City Council is to bring services closer to citizens. The Chamber of Commerce of Fuerteventura is a key entity for promoting entrepreneurship and supporting SMEs on the island,” said Mayor Alejandro Jorge. “We are working to make these resources more accessible to residents, so they are nearer to those who need them. I am confident that this collaboration will be fruitful and beneficial for local economic development.”

President Juan Jesús Rodríguez Marichal added that the opening of the branch in Pájara “represents a very important step for the institution, which has long been working to bring its services to the south of the island.” He emphasized that the Chamber’s goal is “to be increasingly accessible to users, facilitating all procedures and avoiding unnecessary travel,” and highlighted that the agreement will enable a “more agile, close and effective” assistance to companies, freelancers and entrepreneurs in the municipality.

Both institutions agree that the launch of this chamber branch marks a significant advance in public‑private collaboration and the creation of useful tools to support the growth and competitiveness of the productive fabric of southern Fuerteventura.
