Citizen mobilization in Corralejo to find Katty

This afternoon a citizen mobilization will take place to search for Katty Oosterlinck, a Corralejo resident who has been missing since last Sunday. Her close circle is asking for help to locate her and says they “have no idea what could have happened.”

Maximum concern surrounds Katty Oosterlinck, the Corralejo resident who has been missing since Sunday. After spending the day at the beach, she said goodbye to her friend Johanna Kal and headed home to the Geafond housing development. It was around 5:30 p.m.; since then, no one has seen her again.

“It’s very strange that she doesn’t answer WhatsApp messages or calls,” explains Joana, who is used to staying in almost constant contact with her friend.

The silence heightens the fear when it becomes clear that Katty’s family also cannot reach her.

“Her daughter called me to say she can’t talk to her mother,” she laments.

Alarms were raised immediately and a disappearance report was filed.

No one knows what might have happened to Katty, and anxiety is at its peak. According to Joanna Kal, the immediate circle does not consider the possibility that she could be a victim of gender‑based violence, and they cannot find any explanation for her sudden disappearance.

Therefore, they are asking the public for maximum cooperation in the search, which will begin this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at the Cenmed clinic in Corralejo.

A search operation has been organized with the collaboration of the Civil Guard and the Local Police.
