City Council launches FTV Game Party: The Year’s Final Match to close out 202

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of New Technologies, will host the FTV Game Party: The Final Play of the Year, a free event aimed at young people and families that will close 2025 with two intensive days dedicated to digital leisure, video games and gamer culture. The event will take place at the Palace of Training and Congresses, with free entry until capacity is reached.

The first day will run from midday to 11 p.m., featuring Fortnite and FC 26 tournaments, as well as a large gamer zone equipped with gaming stations, virtual‑reality setups and computers.

That same evening, the event will host a special New Year’s farewell set in a retro‑gamer universe, where attendees can experience their own countdown with a fun theme: “Team Pajama vs. Team Gala”, inviting participants to choose a style and enjoy a creative, festive celebration.

The activity will continue the next day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a “free game” format, keeping all gaming areas open but without competitions, to foster a more relaxed and participatory experience accessible to everyone.

Carmen Alonso, Councillor for Informatics and New Technologies, emphasized:

“Thanks to the support of the FDCAN, we can continue betting on innovative initiatives that connect with the real interests of our youth, opening spaces for meeting, creativity and participation around gamer culture and new technologies.”

Alonso encouraged massive participation:

“We invite all the boys and girls of Fuerteventura, and their families, to come to the Palace of Training and Congresses, choose their team and celebrate the arrival of the new year in their own way, sharing games, camaraderie and a great atmosphere in a completely free proposal.”

She also highlighted that such actions “contribute to building a more dynamic, inclusive and digital Fuerteventura, where youth play a leading role in the present and future of the island.”

The FTV Game Party is part of the youth‑action programme funded by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN) for the 2023‑2027 period, aimed at promoting innovation, social cohesion and economic dynamism. Through these initiatives, the Cabildo reinforces projects that combine technology, training and responsible leisure, bringing digital tools to the youth of all municipalities.
