Civil Guard Announces 40 New Positions in Fuerteventura

The General Directorate of the Civil Guard (the “Benemérita”) published yesterday an important update for the island.

The Directorate announced an expansion of vacancies for Fuerteventura, allocating the new posts as follows:

• 10 positions for Usesic
• 5 positions for Puerto del Rosario
• 5 positions for Corralejo
• 5 positions for Gran Tarajal
• 15 positions for Puerto del Rosario

The information was released early in the day by José Cabrera Noda, Secretary of Municipal Policy for the Majorero PSOE, who has been closely monitoring the island’s staffing levels through Minister Torres.

All levels of government, led by Lola García, President of the Cabildo, have intensified efforts to highlight the shortage of officers—not only within the Civil Guard—to improve security on Fuerteventura, an island that “has grown and where the forces were falling behind the island’s reality.”
