Civil Guard busts drug sale hub in Corralejo residential complex

A replica pistol was found on display and is believed to have been used as an intimidation tool against customers.

The Civil Guard has broken up an active drug‑sale and consumption point located on Anzuelo Street in the Corralejo residential complex (Fuerteventura). The operation led to the arrest of a person charged with a public‑health offence for small‑scale drug trafficking and a separate charge of receiving stolen goods.

Operation “Anzuelo”

In a statement, the Guard explained that the investigation began in September 2025 after a rise in community alarm over a suspected low‑level drug‑selling venue.

  • From the Corralejo Main Post, with support from the 4th Company of Puerto del Rosario, several surveillance devices were deployed.
  • Continuous movement of individuals was observed, many known for minor offences and habitual drug use.
  • Agents discovered that inside the dwelling, cocaine base was being exchanged and later mixed with other substances to produce crack.
  • Some drug‑dependent individuals arrived with allegedly stolen items from local shops to trade them for doses, reinforcing the hypothesis of a dual operation involving both drug sales and receipt of stolen goods.
  • The investigations confirmed that the drugs were prepared and consumed on‑site, providing the seller with protection and complicating police action in public spaces.
  • Consumers enjoyed a false sense of “guarantee” by being able to use the substance at the very place of purchase.

Entry and Search of the Residence

With solid evidence in hand, the competent court authorized a search of the premises on 22 January 2026. The raid uncovered numerous incriminating items:

  • Remnants of crack preparation and tools used for handling and selling the drug.
  • Several quantities of hashish, ready‑to‑sell crack, and other substances pending analysis.
  • Over thirty perfumes, a high‑end watch, mobile phones, tablets, clothing items, and jewelry, many still bearing tags and anti‑theft alarm systems.
  • The aforementioned replica pistol, displayed openly and likely used to intimidate customers.

The operation concluded with the detention of the individual responsible for the drug‑sale point. She was placed before the court in Puerto del Rosario and later released pending further charges.
