Cold departs the island Thursday, dusty haze arrives Friday
Temperatures return to values more in line with the usual Majorera range; calima will arrive on Friday
The tradewind loses its dominance starting Thursday, and the African ridge regains prominence with light easterly breezes and a general rise in temperatures. As a result, the cold, humid days of the past week give way to temperatures that could reach 25 °C in many parts of the island.
In addition, sea conditions will ease on Thursday, though the sea will remain in its typical winter state, with waves up to 2 m high along the north and west coasts.
Calima Returns and a New Storm Follows
From Friday onward, the ridge will become more influential as a significant plume of dust (calima) from the continent moves toward the island and later spreads across the entire archipelago. The duration is uncertain, but forecasts (with a one‑week outlook) suggest that by Tuesday the island could be on the brink of a new Atlantic low‑pressure system that would bring rain and strong sea conditions.
