Construction Monitoring Service for Airport‑Pozo Negro Section Provisionally Awarded for €3.7 Million

The service will ensure technical monitoring of the construction, quality control, environmental supervision, and compliance with safety and health conditions throughout the works.

The Government of the Canary Islands has provisionally awarded the control and surveillance service for the Airport‑Pozo Negro section of the North‑South axis highway on Fuerteventura, at a cost of €3,727,571.41.

According to the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility, the temporary consortium Sociedad de Ingeniería, Servicios del Territorio y Medio Ambiente, S.A.; Jaraba Ingenieros Urbanistas, S.L.P.; and Evalúa Soluciones Ambientales, S.L. has been proposed as the contract winner.

This service will guarantee technical oversight of the construction, quality control, environmental monitoring, and adherence to safety and health standards during the execution of the works.

The project covers the Airport‑Pozo Negro stretch of the Puerto del Rosario‑Morro Jable road, spanning approximately 17 kilometres.

The work represents the continuation of Fuerteventura’s North‑South axis, enhancing the island’s road network with a high‑capacity infrastructure.

Upon completion, Fuerteventura will have a continuous motorway‑type connection from Corralejo to Pozo Negro, linking key regional points such as the island’s ports, the airport, and various urban and tourist centres.

The project also includes new links that will improve connections with FV‑2, FV‑413, and FV‑50, facilitating access to the airport, tourist hubs like Caleta de Fuste, and several urban and rural areas of the municipality of Antigua.
