Costa Calma to get a Compulsory Education Center

Pájara City Council Ready to Allocate Land for the Construction of a CEO in Costa Calma

On Thursday morning, the mayor of the municipality, Alejandro Jorge, together with the first deputy mayor and councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Alexis Alonso, visited the CEIP Costa Calma to convey to the school’s management their commitment to provide any land that can be made available to the Government of the Canary Islands for the creation of a Compulsory Education Center (CEO) in the town.

“The council will request a technical meeting with the Canary Islands’ Ministry of Education to assess the feasibility of the available parcels for building the new educational facility,” announced Alexis Alonso. He added that the governing team will also address the situation of IES La Lajita, aiming to prevent students from the municipality from having to travel elsewhere to continue their studies.

The mayor emphasized that the Pájara City Council is working decisively to improve local education and will not hesitate to make any suitable land available to the Canary Islands Government for the school’s construction and the development of the project.

He also noted that the council has been studying this proposal for several weeks, with the goal of promoting both the CEO in Costa Calma and the future IES La Lajita in collaboration with the Canary Islands Government.
