Cow Removed from La Oliva’s Southeast Coast

The animal was found at Playa Valdivia, descending the La Caldereta crossing.

The Town Hall of La Oliva, through the Beaches Department managed by Julio Santana, removed the cow on May 19 after the sea had washed it onto the municipality’s eastern coast, specifically at Playa Valdivia.

Once again, the council has taken charge of retrieving a domestic animal that had been thrown into the sea from a vessel transporting it—most likely a livestock‑transport ship arriving from South America.

Municipal equipment was employed, and the animal was taken to Zurita (via the company authorized to handle waste in the archipelago).

“The Beaches Department thanks the citizens for their collaboration, as it was neighbors who reported the incident to the Town Hall,” the department said in a statement.
