Drone sighting halts El Matorral Airport operations this morning

It’s the third time since summer that a drone has flown in a prohibited zone, endangering aviation operations

The presence of a drone near El Matorral Airport in Fuerteventura suspended airport operations for about an hour. Several flights saw their arrivals delayed, which in turn postponed their departures, causing inconvenience to passengers and disrupting airline schedules. Drone sightings near Fuerteventura Airport in recent months have caused interruptions to the island’s airport on at least three occasions.
