Drowning Death in Southern Lanzarote

It concerns a 30‑year‑old man who was pulled from the water with signs of drowning in the Los Charcones area of Yaiza.

A man, 30, died on Sunday afternoon after being rescued from the water in cardiac arrest and showing clear signs of drowning in the Los Charcones zone of the municipality of Yaiza, located in the southwest of Lanzarote.

At 17:33, the Canary Islands Government’s Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received a call reporting the incident and immediately deployed the necessary emergency resources.

While medical teams were en route, first responders began basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers, which were later taken over by staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC). They continued advanced life‑support procedures, but unfortunately these efforts were unsuccessful, and the man’s death was confirmed.

Local Police and Civil Guard units also arrived at the scene to conduct the required investigations.
