Drowns in Cofete
It concerns a man of about 56 years who was pulled from the sea at the well‑known and hazardous beach in the southern part of the island.
Around two in the afternoon, a 56‑year‑old man drowned at the notorious Cofete beach in southern Fuerteventura.
At that time, the Canary Islands Government’s Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert reporting that several people had rescued a man from the water who showed signs of drowning and required medical assistance.
Upon arrival, the emergency response team (SUC) found the victim in cardiac arrest. They performed basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, but these efforts were unsuccessful, and his death was confirmed.
