Dry Easterly Weather and High-Altitude Haze Ahead of the December Long Weekend
Starting this Friday, temperatures will rise with the retreat of the tradewind (alisio).
Forecast Overview
- A drastic change in Fuerteventura’s weather is expected for the weekend and the upcoming December holiday.
- The influence of the anticyclone will withdraw, allowing the African ridge to return with light easterly winds and increasing temperatures.
Temperature Rise
- East winds will be gentle, but the loss of the alisio will cause daytime temperatures to climb noticeably from Friday onward.
Calima (Dust)
- The ridge will bring calima at altitude.
- It is not expected to be very intense, yet it is likely to persist at least until Tuesday.
Sea Conditions
- The deep sea level will rise, producing waves up to three metres high in the north and west of the island.
- Caution is strongly advised for anyone swimming or engaging in water activities.
