El Cotillo Hosts 2026 Holy Week with SOCO Festival and Cultural Wave

The municipality of La Oliva has unveiled its cultural programme for Easter 2026, once again centering the festivities in the town of El Cotillo with the SOCO Festival and the Cultural Tide Festival. The line‑up underscores a continued commitment to music, leisure and activities for all audiences.

The programme kicks off on 2 and 3 April with the SOCO Festival, now in its 15th edition, held in the historic Plaza Vieja of El Cotillo. Organized in partnership with the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Analogic Foundation, the event has become a cultural benchmark both on the island and beyond, showcasing alternative artists from the archipelago.

  • Thursday, 2 April – performances by DJ Skull & Bio, Perdxmo, Loopn Loompa, DJ Chk, Tamar Waters, Shusko, Jeri and Alvarito.
  • Friday, 3 April – the stage will feature Amakó, Don Virgilio, Chocolate Sexy, Beat Creator, Salomon Moore, Barrabass Sound System and Michael Maxoh.

“Easter in our municipality lives in El Cotillo, with great music, activities and proposals for families to enjoy over several days,” said Isaí Blanco, mayor of La Oliva.

The cultural agenda continues on Saturday, 4 April with the Cultural Tide Festival, designed for all ages. From 11:00 a.m., children’s workshops, games and musical activities will be offered. At 6:00 p.m., a participatory workshop in African dance and percussion will take place.

The day will close with an evening “verbena” starting at 8:00 p.m., featuring performances by La Banda del Cuco, Tribu – G (a tribute to Hombres G), Nuevo Klan, Grupo Arena and Grupo Kandela.

“Easter in El Cotillo is synonymous with gathering and culture,” emphasized Rayco León, cultural adviser of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, also highlighting the Analogic Foundation’s role in sustaining the event for the past 15 years.

With this schedule, the La Oliva town council reinforces its focus on culture as a driving force during Easter, cementing El Cotillo as one of the island’s main meeting points during the holiday period.
