Electrical Incident Leaves Large Part of La Oliva Without Water
Adverse weather hampers the relocation of a generator at the Fimapaire pumping station while the power‑line fault is repaired
Due to a failure in the electrical network that supplies power to the Fimapaire pumping station, most towns in northern Fuerteventura have been without water throughout Saturday.
The municipalities currently without supply are:
- La Oliva
- Tindaya
- Esquinzo
- Villaverde
- Los Lajares
- El Roque
- El Cotillo
- Majanicho
The electric company is working to resolve the fault so that the CAAF can restore normal service as quickly as possible. At present, the utility and the CAAF are cooperating closely to bring a mobile generator to the pumping station, but the weather conditions are creating obstacles to its transport.
Authorities continue to locate the damaged power line and to move the generator to the top of Fimapaire. Updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
