Emocreative “Abrigadas” Gather Over 1,000 Students in Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura hosts a new edition of Abrigadas Emocreativas this Thursday, an initiative that forms part of the V Jornadas de Emocuidando. The program aims to promote emotional education and strengthen affective bonds within the educational community.
The day’s activities take place in several primary schools across the island, involving nearly 1,000 pupils from 5th and 6th grades, accompanied by about 60 university students enrolled in the Teaching Degree programmes at the University of La Laguna and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Teachers, families and technical teams linked to education also participate in the events.
In the early morning, Adargoma Hernández, Education and Youth Counselor of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, welcomed the university participants at the airport.
Abrigadas Emocreativas uses a horizontal mediation methodology: university students work alongside primary‑school children in dynamics focused on emotional care, active listening, recognition, and the construction of positive relationships within the school environment.
In parallel, the programme includes the project “Islas de Emocuidados,” which offers affective tutoring for families under the title “How to Face Your Children’s Emotions.”
Lola García, President of the Cabildo, emphasized the importance of continuing to foster shared spaces within the educational community to address emotional management from an early age.
Adargoma Hernández highlighted that the initiative “allows us to connect university training with the daily reality of schools, integrating emotional education as a transversal tool in learning.”
The activities are part of the V Jornadas de Emocuidando, promoted by Sinergias In & Out, and will conclude with joint reflection sessions and group dynamics centered on body awareness and emotional well‑being.
