Exploitation and document fraud involving 11 people at a Corralejo resort
Eleven workers were identified performing cleaning duties without residence or work authorization in Spain.
The National Police has concluded an investigation that uncovered a business network allegedly dedicated to the labor exploitation of foreign workers in irregular administrative status and to document falsification.
The operations began on 26 November 2025 after a joint raid carried out by the Local Immigration and Borders Brigade of Puerto del Rosario, in collaboration with the Labor and Social Security Inspection of Las Palmas, at a hotel establishment in the town of Corralejo, municipality of La Oliva.
During the police action, thirteen foreign workers in irregular administrative situations were identified; eleven of them were carrying out cleaning tasks without the required residence and work permits.
As a result, an infringement report was filed against the responsible company and its sole administrator for violating immigration and labor regulations, with proposed fines totaling €117,969.31.
Subsequent proceedings revealed a fraudulent modus operandi consisting of the successive creation of commercial companies to continuously maintain illegal employment of foreign workers, thereby evading administrative control, illicitly reducing labor costs, and shirking obligations related to Social Security and occupational risk prevention.
The investigation also uncovered evidence of document falsification through the fraudulent use of third‑party identities and the manipulation of official documents from the General Treasury of Social Security, aiming to create a façade of legality and conceal the irregular hiring of workers.
Consequently, on 23 January 2026 two individuals were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against workers’ rights, and the sole administrator was additionally charged with document falsification. The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
