FEAGA 2026: Tofio, Jandía and Niebla win Majorero donkey morphology contest

The 38th edition of Feaga hosted the first Morphological Competition for the Majorero Donkey, one of the main novelties of this year’s event. The contest was organized thanks to the collaboration of the Association for the Conservation and Promotion of the Majorero Donkey.

• Male category winner: Tofio (Tiscamanita) from Doramas Santana.
• Female category winner: Niebla, owned by Francisco Bordón (Villaverde).
• Second prize: Jandía, also from Doramas Santana.

During the competition, each specimen undergoes a detailed morphological assessment, evaluating traits such as the crucial stripe on the back, the “crosses” on the legs, height, and other criteria.

The regional Majorero Donkey Association “SOO” Fuerteventura contributes to the preservation of this breed, which is a cornerstone of Fuerteventura’s heritage.
