February Forecast: Dry and Sunny

The anticyclone is positioned northwest of La Palma, sending a moderate trade wind to Fuerteventura

Everything points to a sunny February on the island of Fuerteventura, which will break the streak of moist fronts that have accompanied us throughout December and January.

The Azores anticyclone sits northwest of the islands, exerting its pressure and diverting Atlantic storms toward northern Europe; this is expected to lower the moisture pressure over the Iberian Peninsula.

Temperatures will begin to rise, especially from Tuesday onward, with clear skies and light northeast winds. The only exception will be Saturday, when the wind will pick up a bit more, particularly in the north and southeast of the island of Fuerteventura.

In this beach‑day context, great caution is advised when swimming, as the sea will remain strong and waves exceeding three metres could be observed along the north and west coasts of the island for almost the entire coming week.
